May 18-22, 2022
There may not be an RPM Chicagoland this year, but planning is underway for an event that combines the best of the Chicagoland model, with a full blown regional convention. Make plans today to join us at Indy Junction 2022!
This is a full RPM Conference, meaning 3 days of clinics from your favorite RPM presenters. A separate RPM model display room including the Modutrak HO and N scale layouts. And a Friends of the Freight Car Dinner.
Then, for no additional registration fee, you’ll get access to the NMRA Tri-Region event at the same hotel. Two ballrooms of vendors and train shows, additional NMRA clinics, and all the fun and festivities at the host hotel. There will also be side trips, if you do want to participate in bus tours and prototype site tours. Those are extra cost, but you do not have to be an NMRA member. This is truly a joint effort and one big party.
So please, save the date, register if you can make it, and let me know if you want to present an RPM clinic. I’m gathering names now, with the latest list of presenters being updated HERE.
More great announcements to follow over the coming months. I’m really happy to have found a model to continue the great times we built at RPM Chicagoland, in a sustainable format.
All the best,
Mike Skibbe
I am interested in attending. It is important not to require NMRA membership for people to attend FPM,
Dennis- Rest assured, there is no NMRA membership needed to attend. And, you will still have access to all of the activities, RPM tract or NMRA tract. The only exception is the judged NMRA contest room. But have no fear, there is a separate RPM model display room as always.
What is the date
Mike, will the RPM-specific events be spread throughout 18-22 May or will they be concentrated on 1-2 days in particular? Those who need to plan travel would like to know. Thanks!
John-
RPM will be concentrated on our typical Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon schedule. Hope to see you there!
Contest: will it be an NMRA rules contest? That is, will the NMRA judging guidelines be used? Will there be 3 to 5 judges per category?
Dave-
That would be best answered by the NMRA folks, but here is their webpage. The NMRA contest is the only portion of the event that requires NMRA membership. The RPM model room will be separate for those just wishing to display models.
